Ordinances and Resolutions

ORDINANCES are the means used to make new laws. They may be proposed by any member of Council, including the Mayor. Ordinances adopted in 2006 are listed below.

2006 Ordinances

• Ordinance 2006-01 - Provides for amending the 2005 - 2006 Budget
• Ordinance 2006-02 - Provides for amending Article 6
• Ordinance 2006-03 - Provides for the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Budget
• Ordinance 2006-04 - Provides for prohibition of bicycling on Kiawah Island Parkway
• Ordinance 2006-05 - Provides for amending Article 13, traffic control and Article 15, general offenses

A RESOLUTION is simply a more formal way to pass a motion. It has all the binding powers of a motion and is often used when a formal vote is needed. All resolutions considered by Council, whether adopted or not, are listed below.
