CodeRed

Beginning in 2003, the Town contracted with Emergency Communications Network to provide computerized telephonic messages to be sent out during an emergency event. Uses may include evacuation notices, boil water advisories and notices, and emergency recovery updates.

Under this system, non-resident owners and commercial entities can also be notified if they have registered their off-island phone numbers into the CodeRed system. All on-island numbers are supposed to be already included.

You can register your off-island or commercial phone number in two ways:

  NOTE: Use your Kiawah address in the address field.
  


• Town does it

If you choose for the Town to add your information, make sure you provide your full name, Kiawah Island property address and phone number(s) in body of the email.

Emergency Planning Tip
Make sure you have a phone in your home that does not require electricity in case phone service is restored before electric service.
