Monday, April 14th-Public Information Session
The Town of Kiawah is hosting a public information session for Town residents to educate them on the benefits of recycling, increased waste reduction and anti littering efforts. The information session will be held on Monday, April 14th at the Kiawah Island Municipal Center from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. There will be various vendors and representatives from the solid waste & recycling industry participating in this event. Please be sure to stop by and visit the exhibit booths and learn how you can help in these efforts.
Tuesday, April 15th-Document Destruction
Are you ready for Spring Cleaning? Have you filed your taxes? If so, bring those personal documents to the Town’s Annual Document Destruction Day from 9-11 am on Tuesday, April 15th. A document destruction facility will be onsite to shred those documents and then dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner. This service is complimentary for the residents of Kiawah Island. Don’t get caught in the paper mill, shred those documents right away!
Wednesday, April 16th-Great American Highway Cleanup
The fourth Highway Cleanup of the Kiawah Island Parkway and Beachwalker Drive will take place at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 and will conclude with a boxed lunch for volunteers. Volunteers will meet at Town Hall promptly at 9:00 am to receive their supplies and cleanup supplies. The Nature Center will be supplying naturalists and kayaks to help clean the waterways adjacent to the road.
Thursday, April 17th-Employee/Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon
The Town will recognize all employees, commission and committee members for their dedication and volunteerism to the Town of Kiawah Island. The Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 17th at the Sandcastle from 11-1:00 p.m. This is an annual event to express our gratitude for all your many contributions to the Town. Your valuable support helps to “Make a Difference.”
Friday, April 18th-Beautification Projects
Town staff will also work on beautification projects along the newly landscaped Beachwalker Drive. They will be planting spring saplings, creating butterfly gardens and landscaping designated areas along the fishing pier at Beachwalker Drive. Please come and be a part of this rewarding experience.
