Every person engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation, or profession referenced in whole or in part, within the limits of the town, is required to pay an annual business license fee based on gross income. Business licenses are valid for one calendar year beginning May 1st expiring April 30th. Renewals received after April 30th are considered delinquent and subject to a late fee of 5% per month. A new business shall be required to have a business license prior to operating within the Town.

The SC General Assembly passed Act 176, SC Business Licenses Tax Standardization Act, to streamline the business license process by creating the same process for taxing jurisdictions across the state.
