New Sea Islands MUSC Medical Facility
MUSC Health has announced its plan to build a new 22,740 square-foot medical facility at 1884 Seabrook Island Road to meet the growing need for emergency and other health care services in the Sea Islands community. This project was driven by an urgent need for additional health care services to provide for the sea island’s growth, geographic isolation, demographics, and community health profiles. Construction is expected to begin in August 2022 and open the facility in Fall 2023.
The facility will have two components:
- Freestanding emergency room with four exam rooms, two trauma rooms, fast-track triage, full CT scan, radiology services, complete lab services, direct admission to hospital beds, and a helipad.
- Medical office building with services for primary care, specialty care, telehealth pods, onsite lab, diagnostic treatment, and physical/occupational therapy treatment rooms.
