In June, the Town of Kiawah Island canceled the first half of the Arts & Cultural Events season with the hope that events could resume safely in early 2021.
The Arts & Cultural Events Council, in coordination with the Town, has begun evaluating events planned for 2021 on an incremental basis. There are no events being considered until after January 2021. Evaluations will include an assessment of various factors impacting the safety of artists, guests, volunteers, and staff. We will keep you informed as further decisions are made and will provide an update on these efforts in January.
Elements of the Arts Council program such as the volunteer-based structure, guest demographics, and use of multiple venues present unique challenges in implementing recommended safety protocols. As such, the Arts Council believes an incremental approach is the best manner in which to proceed.
When the Arts Council resumes events, all applicable State and local requirements, such as capacity constraints and face coverings, will be strictly enforced.
We thank you for your patronage and look forward to welcoming you back to performances when the situation allows.
