Grammy Award-winning musician/producer and world-renowned drummer Quentin E. Baxter presents another amazing three-concert series at the Legends Room – Turtle Point Clubhouse. The second concert of the series will feature pianist Louis Heriveaux with special guest vocalist Karlea Lynne. Accompanying Heriveaux for the concert will be guitarist Rod Harris, Jr, bassist Rodney Jordan, and drummer Quentin E. Baxter.

    LOUIS HERIVEAUX, Piano

Born in Queens [New York, NY], but grew up mostly in Tampa, FL, Louis Heriveaux started studying classical piano at age 3 under his mom’s tutelage. By age 5, she decided it best for him to officially move on to more advanced lessons in classical piano. While in high school, Heriveaux was selected among his peers to attend the Governor’s Honors program where he was first exposed to Jazz. The rest is history in the making.

Heriveaux continued his musical education in Jazz Studies at Georgia State University. It was in Atlanta, GA where he met notable mentor and Jazz piano legend Johnny O’Neal. Years later, Heriveaux sought out another mentor and Jazz educator Donald Brown in Knoxville, TN.

Heriveaux is respected as one of the most in-demand pianists/producers of the Southeast. Many band leaders have benefited from the genius of Heriveaux’s subtle, yet extremely impactful musical style having toured and performed with guitarist Russell Malone, vocalist Nnenna Freelon, saxophonist Jimmy Heath, vibraphonist Jason Marsalis, trumpeter Russell Gunn, vocalist Jeanie Bryson, bassist Rodney Jordan, and many others. As a music producer in the popular music world, Heriveaux has worked with the likes of Dallas Austin, 112, TLC, Ginuwine, and Snoop Dogg.

Most recently, Heriveaux served as the Assistant Musical Director in the musical “Ain’t Misbehavin’” where he also played the role of legendary pianist Fats Waller. Based in Atlanta, GA, Heriveaux is currently in the master’s program at Georgia State University.
