Traditionally held at Turtle Point Clubhouse, this year’s Quentin E. Baxter series may look a little different but will continue to deliver the highest level of artistry. The first virtual concert of the series will feature the Jeremy Wolf Group consisting of musicians familiar to jazz enthusiasts: Jeremy Wolf on bass, Mark Sterbank on saxophone, Lee Barbour on guitar, Jonathan Lovett at the piano, and Ronald Wiltrout on drums.
Wolf holds a BA in music from the College of Charleston, where he studied Composition with Dr. David Maves and Bass with Lee Burroughs and Eric Gronfor. Upon graduating, Wolf became one of Charleston’s premier freelance musicians, performing locally with The Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Robert Lewis, Quentin Baxter, Lee Barbour, Charlton Singleton, Ron Wiltrout, Asa Holgate, and many others. He has also had the pleasure of performing with national talent the likes of Darius Rucker, Wycliffe Gordon, Diane Schuur, Greg Abate, Peter Graves, Vinnie Falcone, and Rebecca Paris. Wolf released his first album, “Understanding” as a leader in August of 2014. His second album, “The Wheel” was released in the fall of 2020.
“I am really excited to present these virtual concerts sponsored by the Town of Kiawah Island Cultural Events Fund. This is a fantastic way to honor what has been an annual musical celebration up in the Legends Room at Turtle Point Clubhouse and hope to see your smiling faces again soon! Please be safe and stay strong.” – Quentin E Baxter
Concert will be available to view for 48 hours beginning at 5 p.m. on February 28.
