Town Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
We regret to inform the community that a Town employee who last worked on Tuesday, November 10, has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee followed precautionary procedures at work, wearing the required face mask, daily temperature checks, and use of hand sanitizer. This employee became symptomatic on Tuesday evening and was tested on Wednesday, November 11. Late Friday, November 13, the employee received the positive COVID-19 test result and notified the Town.
This employee may have had direct contact with any person who came to the municipal center on Monday, November 9, or Tuesday, November 10. Based on CDC guidelines, those individuals should take precautionary measures to be tested.
The Town has notified all staff, encouraged all staff to be tested, and arranged for cleaning and disinfecting the municipal center according to the recommended CDC cleaning guidelines. Out of caution, the municipal center building will be closed on Monday, November 16, and Tuesday, November 17, with staff working remotely.
The Town has continued to follow its protocol on cleaning, social distancing, daily temperature checks, wearing the town-mandated face coverings, employees quarantining after travel, and other preventive measures. We ask the community to remain vigilant about social distancing and wearing the town-mandated face coverings.
