Oct. 19 Planning Commission Workshop and Special Call Meeting Recap

On Oct. 19, the Planning Commission held a workshop and special call meeting to discuss amendments to the ARDA. The meetings are available for viewing here

During the special call meeting, Planning Commission provided the following recommendationsto Town Council:

Parcel 8, 9, and 10 (Parkway Gate, Beachwalker Office Park, and Marsh Point Residual) to be rezoned to R-2, Residential with its future land use designation as medium density residential.
Parcel 11 (Beachwalker Lagoon) to be rezoned R-3, Residential with its future land use designation as high density residential. This parcel is currently under site plan review for a proposed development.
Former Church Parcel to be rezoned to R-3, Residential with its future land use designation as high density residential. This parcel is not a part of ARDA and is currently under site plan review for a proposed development.
Parcel 13/Lot 1 to be rezoned R-3, Residential with its future land use designation as high density residential. This parcel is currently under site plan review for a proposed development.
Parcel 13/The Cape to be rezoned R-3, Residential with its future land use designation as high density residential.
Parcel 13/Timbers to be rezoned R-3, Residential with its future land use designation as high density residential.
Parcel 12A (Beachwalker Park) to be rezoned R-2, Residential with its future land use designation as medium density residential.
Parcel 12B (Captain Sam’s) to be rezoned R-1, Residential with its future land use designation as low density residential.
Parcel 16 (The Settlement) to be rezoned R-1, Residential and PR, Parks and Recreation Residential with its future land use designation as low density residential and active recreation and open space. This also included a recommendation to amend Sec. 12-103 Conditions of Use for personal improvement services.
Parcel 41 (Osprey Beach) to be rezoned R-1, Residential and PR, Parks and Recreation Residential with its future land use designation as low density residential and active recreation and open space.
Ordinance 2013-23 with revisions. The ordinance amends the Town’s Land Use Planning and Zoning Ordinance to remove the Amended and Restated Development Agreement as an appendix of this document.

There will be a public hearing for these recommendations on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Town Hall.  Town Council will convene on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss the ARDA in further detail.
